I think the character of Hermoine is a great role model for young girls for her intelligence, commitment to studies, and even her activism (better the conditions for the house elves, wasn't it?) <br /><br />I was talking to colleague with a young child about her nightly reading to him and now he's excited about books. We try to instill that in children, but many forget it themselves as adults. I think it's great Rowling got kids and adults so excited about reading.
